Barcelona, as a state, is currently fighting for independence within Spain.
However, Sandro Rosell is of the opinion that there are fans of the club who have different thoughts and it doesn’t mean that the club should not represent them.
Most of the Barcelona fans are from Catalonia and they support the fact that they should be independent from Spain.
However, Sandro Rosell stated that even though such fans make the majority of the public that visits the Nou Camp, it should not mean that Barcelona, as a club, should represent only their point of view.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 will be taking on their arch-rivals, Real Madrid, on 7th of October.
The club president, Sandro Rosell, believes that the Barcelona fans will try and use this game in order to press their point of independence.
However, he clearly mentioned that this should not be the case as the club consists of huge amount of people with different thinking and different ideas.
While speaking about the situation, the Catalan president said:
“I am convinced that Camp Nou will be a pressure cooker at El Clasico for Barca and Catalonia, but the Barca and Catalan people are very civil and polite.”
“Ultimately, the social gathering that is Barca becomes a representation for the masses in Catalonia. There are many numbers of fans, and they are allowed to express whatever they want.”
“But the club should not come to this. The club is a huge group of people, with many ways of thinking, each person having their own ideals.”
Sandro Rosell summed his speech up by stating that La Blaugrana should be a neutral institution and the club should understand what most of the people want.
“Our institution must be neutral, but always know and understand what most of the people want.”
Barcelona will be locking horns with Real Madrid on 7th of October and like it always has been, the Nou Camp will be fully crowded, ready to cheer for their home team as they take on their fiercest rivals.
