Joan Laporta came out in the media with another series of accusations against current Barcelona president, Sandro Rosell, claiming he has links with violent supporters’ factions.
Rivalry between Joan Laporta and Sandro Rosell got another lease of life, with the former incumbent accusing his successor of ties to violent supporter groups.
Laporta claimed to have proof of his accusations, whilst adding Rosell wants to make life easier for these factions. During his reign in the president’s room, Laporta had a zero tolerance policy towards such fans.
“There is evidence that these gentlemen have links to those violent groups that are lurking, hidden, and ready to return to their evil ways,” Laporta said on the Punta Pelota programme.
Continuing on the tirade of accusations, Laporta also took out time to reflect on Pep Guardiola’s departure from the Camp Nou. He stated that Rosell was behind Guardiola leaving the Catalan club, whilst also claiming decision to appoint Tito Vilanova was
a panic measure.
“The decision to appoint [Guardiola’s successor] Tito Vilanova was one of fear, panic. Guardiola left because of a dereliction of duty on the part of the board as the President was hiding because he was only concerned with making a disgusting persecution
of the previous directive.”
Additionally, Laporta lashed out at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Qatar-c2986 Foundation. He questioned the motives of the board members, claiming that they have fed lies to the stakeholders.
“They [the present board] are devoted to lying and began by saying that Barca would not exist without Qatar [ the Foundation]. It’s all lies.”
Moreover, the 50-year-old once again revealed that he has second thoughts about Barcelona’s presidential elections. Laporta stated that he has the support of fans, who have asked him to run for the coming elections.
As the University of Barcelona graduate shakes La Blaugrana board room, the first team is working wonders in La Liga and UEFA Champions League.
Tito Vilanova’s men have registered six La Liga victories from seven fixtures, accumulating 19 points from an available 21. With an impressive run, they have managed an eight-point lead over arch-rivals, Real Madrid.
