Rosman Razak determined to deliver his best as Women’s and Mixed Doubles head coach
The Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) appointed Rosman Razak the new head coach for the Women’s and Mixed Doubles squads and he is determined to deliver his best in producing better shuttlers in both categories.
Rosman, who has been assisting many coaches in the national setup of Malaysia, is now ready to take bigger challenges as he will be supervising all shuttlers in the Women’s and Mixed Doubles categories.
The 36-year-old Rosman has been working in the coaching squad of Malaysia for the last ten years as he started his coaching career in 2002.
His first task is to prepare shuttlers for Olympic Games and will be working with Chong Kien Ling and Jeremy Gan.
In Mixed Doubles category, only the World Number 7 Goh Liu Ying and Chan Peng Soon confirmed their spot in Olympic Games and Rosman will be working to improve their game in all aspects.
While talking about his elevated position in the coaching staff, Rosman said that he is surprised with this promotion but he also said that he is determined to live up to expectations.
He has accumulated a variety of coaching skills because he has been working with different coaches including Rexy, Park Joo Bong and Rashid Sidek.
Rosman said, “I was surprised but also quite thrilled with this appointment. It’s a new challenge that requires more hard work. I started my coaching career in 2002 but spent most of the time assisting the chief coaches in grooming the players.”
He added, “I have worked under Rashid Sidek, Park Joo-bong and, mostly, Rexy. I have learnt much from all of them and it’s my turn now to put it all together and come up with a plan to further improve the players.”
Rosman will have to work from scratch as he will have he has not much established pairs under his charge.
Women’s Doubles shuttlers Wong Pei Tty and Chin Eei h*i, who could not qualify for Olympic Games, will quit playing at international level soon and Rosman will have to work extra hard to elevate the level of current shuttlers.
However, Rosman is confident that he will produce quality players as he has got a few talented youngsters under his charge and will transform them into world beaters.
