Ross Brawn backs Lewis Hamilton for 2012 F1 season – Formula 1 news
Mercedes AMG Petronas team principal, Ross Brawn backs-up Lewis Hamilton of McLaren to strike back in the forthcoming 2012 Formula 1 season setting off at Albert Park in Melbourne, Australia this weekend.
Brawn said that Hamilton would take a strong fight back during the season ahead after his time together with his teammate, Jenson Button.
Moreover, Brawn believed that Hamilton needed to direct his performance in a better way in order to unleash his true potential for the upcoming season after he endured a frustrating preceding season.
“Lewis has raw speed,” said Brawn.
Additionally, he said that Hamilton had a great talent and pace, plus he could work to perform well during the approaching season.
“On his own admission he didn't have the best year last year, but I think he's intelligent enough to realise that didn't work out and to work to improve his own performance, because he has huge speed and huge talent,” he said.
It would be important to state that Hamilton faced difficulties during the last year because he could not be able to manage his personal life along with his professional life which caused the performance deficiency.
However, recently he said that he was prepared to make the sacrifice in his personal life for his career in F1.
Furthermore, Brawn said that Hamilton should learn from the professionalism of his teammate, Button.
“I think with Jenson he has seen someone who is maybe not as ultimately quick as Lewis, but is able to apply himself more effectively and so that is a combination you have, and Jenson is a very intelligent guy. Don't get me wrong, very, very quick, but really
focused on his racing,” said Brawn.
In addition, he said that Button was completely focused during the practice sessions while he set up his car very well. He also said that Button was very efficient in setting the right priorities which ultimately helped him in his career and there were a
lot of things, Hamilton can learn from Button.
Besides, Brawn was quite positive regarding Hamilton’s prospects for the approaching season and hoped that he would carry on creating his own identity within his team.
