Ross Brawn believes Lewis Hamilton’s issues will take time to resolve – Formula 1 news
Mercedes team principal, Ross Brawn has said that the issues which are being faced by their driver, Lewis Hamilton will take some time to resolve.
Hamilton joined the Silver Arrows in this season as Michael Schumacher’s replacement who retired at the end of the last year. Although, he took a convincing start to this season and has scored some competitive points for his team until now. But, he has been
completely out-qualified by his teammate, Nico Rosberg who has secured three consecutive poles in the last three races.
After the last round in Monte Carlo, the British driver admitted that he is struggling to create thorough understanding about his new car after racing with McLaren for the last six years.
However, Brawn has said that everyone in their team is working hard to provide the Briton a competitive car so that he may be able to score good points with consistency in this year’s championship.
He said, “We've got a very good group with Lewis and very experienced people, and it is just working out exactly what he needs and is looking for.”
In addition, he said that Rosberg has been with them for quite a long time, therefore, the German is very well-acquainted with his car. In contrast, he asserted that since the 2008 world champion is still developing understanding about the car, so it may
take some time before he perfectly understands everything.
“That might vary from what Nico needs and is looking for, although they are pretty close in the cars, but it will just take time. Nico's been with the team for four or five years and he knows exactly what buttons to press within the team and Lewis is developing
his understanding of that - who he needs to go to if he wants to debate some aspects of the car,” he added.
Present, the 28-year-old is standing at 4th place in the drivers’ championship with 62 points. Additionally, he is ahead of Mark Webber of Red Bull Racing and behind his major opponent, Fernando Alonso of Ferrari. It will be thrilling to see how he performs
in the season ahead.
