Ross Brawn: hard work put in MGP-W02 before the European part of the season kicks off – Formula 1
Mercedes’ team boss, Ross Brawn, hopes for a great Turkish Grand Prix after he told that there has been extensive development work done on the car, MGP-W02, to make it a race winning machine. Ross added that the Chinese Grand Prix was a confidence booster
for the whole team to work hard for victories.
Mercedes team had a good outing in the Chinese Grand Prix when both German drivers, Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg, showed good speeds and remained in the top ten finishers.
Ross counts on Mercedes’ Chinese race performance and hopes that Turkey will be somewhat similar race for the team.
He said, “The Chinese Grand Prix reminded everyone at the team what it is like to fight for a race. We didn't succeed on that occasion but it's a feeling that we would like to experience more often”.
Ross further added that first two races were a nightmare for the team where all sorts of technical and mechanical failures were seen. He commented that Turkish upgrades will prove well for the team and drivers.
“The team and drivers have worked extremely hard in the short break before the European season begins to ensure that we continue to move forward. We have a fundamentally good car and we need to achieve its full potential in the races to come”, added Ross.
Along with Ross, Mercedes camp is hopeful of success in the Turkish Grand Prix as Mercedes-Benz Motorsport director, Norbert Haug, stated that the Turkish race marks the start of the European season and Mercedes team would love to make it memorable by winning
it.
Mercedes’ German duo is also looking confident moving into the Turkish race as both of them have not won the particular race in their entire career.
For now, Mercedes team sits fifth on the constructor’s table with 16 points, 14 of which came in the Chinese Grand Prix, and looks to consolidate their effort in the upcoming Turkish Grand Prix, only four days away.
