Ross Brawn is eager to see Mercedes improvements in 2012 Chinese Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Ross Brawn, the team principal of Mercedes AMG has said that he is eager to see team’s improvements in 2012 Chinese Grand Prix after a difficult start to the season.
Brawn expressed that they have been making the best of the efforts to make the essential developments and the substantial preparations, after the opening two races, to improve the pace of W03 for the third race.
Moreover, he said that they hope their endeavours will prove out to be successful in the season ahead.
“A lot of hard work and analysis has taken place back at the (Brackley) factory since our return and I hope to see these efforts pay dividends next Sunday in Shanghai, with a performance which reflects the capabilities of the F1 W03,” he said.
The Brackley-based team performed reasonably well during the qualifying of the first two races in which Michael Schumacher secured quite competitive grid positions. However, the seven-time world champion could not change his qualifying performances into
a podium finish.
“On-track, we hope that the weekend will prove more successful than the first two races of the season where our race results did not match expectations after a positive start to both weekends,” said Brawn.
Besides, he said that China is a crucial market for their team and they are looking forward with great expectations towards the next race week.
“China is an important and growing market for our sport, and indeed for Mercedes-Benz, and we look forward to our annual visit next week,” Brawn comments.
Furthermore, Norbert Haug, the vice-president of Mercedes motorsport has said that they have worked very hard and hope to overcome on the tyre issue in the third GP.
It will be important to note that Mercedes have been facing huge criticism from the contenders especially Red Bull Racing and Lotus who are keep on posing questions over the legitimacy of W03’s F-duct design.
Even though FIA have declared it legal, however, the team principal of Red Bull, Christian Horner is still asking for further explanation from the governing body regarding the compliance of the new device with the rules and regulations.
