Ross Brawn says Mercedes’ drivers work very well together – Formula 1 news
Mercedes team principal, Ross Brawn said that their drivers, Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg work very well together as teammates and they are enjoying this line-up at the moment.
Hamilton joined the Brackley based team in this season as Michael Schumacher’s replacement who retired at the end of the last year. The British driver has been an old friend of Rosberg. However, there have been many speculations that the 2008 world champion
will receive preferential treatment over his teammate because he has achieved more in his career until now.
It will be important to note that the German driver was ordered to stay behind the Briton by the pit wall during the Malaysian GP, but fortunately the incident didn’t affect their relationship.
Brawn has said that they have one of the most competitive driver line-ups and both their drivers are really good. Even though, he said that there may be some incidents in the future when they will get angry will each other, but it’s fine because they are
rivals.
“Our drivers get on well, they have raced together before, they have got some nice history together, but we all know there will be events and incidents where they get angry with each other,” he said. “But that's natural, they are competitors and it's important
that we recover from those very quickly so it doesn't become damaging. But they will have their moments for sure.”
Besides, he said that Hamilton and Rosberg are very good team players and competitors and they are enjoying this combination at present.
“Our drivers work very well together as team-mates, they want to beat each other and they are very quick and that's combination that we are enjoying at the moment,” he added.
The Silver Arrows are currently standing at fourth place in the constructors’ championship with 72 points. In addition, they are ahead of Force India and behind their main rival, Lotus. They have faced some huge reliability issues in some of the races in
the season so far because of which their drivers could not attain competitive results. Nonetheless, they are positively looking forward to perform well in the forthcoming races.
