Ross Fisher in hopes of snatching lead from Westwood, Nordea Masters reaches the final stage!
Ross Fisher has been fighting hard to take the lead from the world number 3 Lee Westwood. Fisher remains second after Westwood dominated round 2 of the Scandinavian Masters, played in Stockholm.
Westwood has been the most consistent golfer in the European Tour event and has proved it after taking the lead from Sweden’s Magnus A. Carlsson.
Fisher, on the other hand, has played pretty well and has been giving amazing stroke plays but has not been able to take the lead from Westwood.
“I played really nicely and I'm gradually getting better,” said Fisher.
Westwood and Fisher have been head to head in Stockholm as the two players are in a close battle of taking the lead.
Fisher has been playing brilliantly but the world number 3 has been extremely consistent with his precision.
Fisher holds Westwood in high regard and respects him as a professional golfer. Talking about ‘Westy’, as he knows him, he acknowledged his experience and quality of play.
“I've gone head to head with Westy a couple of times. He's a world-class golfer and that's how we judge our game - against the best players,” said Fisher.
Carlsson had a good start in the early round, as he was leading the board initially. Later on, he fell apart with a couple of bad stroke plays. Fisher and Westwood took advantage of that and are the top-two players of the European event.
