Ross Pearson invites John Terry for a charity UFC brawl – UFC news
Ross Pearson, one of the leading British mixed martial artists has officially invited John Terry, former skipper of England’s national and Chelsea football team, to appear against him in the Ultimate Fighting Championship ring (UFC) for a charity match.
According to ESPN, John Terry who is currently facing an accusation of throwing racial slurs to Queens Park Rangers defender Anton Ferdinand, is scheduled to come forth a hearing regarding the above allegation after the UEFA Euro 2012 event ends and till
then Terry will remain be ousted of his captaincy.
Ross, the only British featherweight in the whole of UFC has a prolific mixed martial art resume. He is infamous for being a sports fanatic and promoter it is this reason why the young 27-year-old has come up with the unique idea which is already followed
by boxing organisations and associations.
When Ross was asked by ‘Fighters only’ magazine about the recent ousting of John Terry by Football Association (FA) he replied, “I think it was the right decision [to strip Terry of the armband], definitely.” Pearson explained that one should be man enough
to take responsibility of his actions.
He remarked that when the investigations started Terry should have taken the resignation decision on his own and must not have waited for the association to take any action. Ross said that Terry is a prolific sportsman and he has achieved much respect in
his career so it’s obvious that if a mistake even inadvertently is committed by a man of such stature he must resign.
Ross commented, “The right approach would have been to stand up, be a man, resign the captaincy while this scandal and investigation is going on and then, if he is cleared, he could take it up again instead of dragging the England captaincy through the mud
the way it is now.”
While explaining his idea of proposing Terry for a UFC bout Ross said that it will be a great innovation just like it happens in the sport of boxing. Pearson, renowned as the Real Deal, remarked that UFC will take a great step if it arranges such a bout
he even went on to say that he is also ready to play a charity football match against Terry and he will try his level best to give a tough time to Britain’s football pride.
