Ross Pearson ready to take on Cub Swanson in a non-title bout on UFC on FX4 – UFC News
Ross Pearson, The Ultimate Fighter 9 winner, will take on Cub Swanson, the multiple-time World Extreme Cagefighting Fight of the night winner, in a three-round non-title featherweight bout on ‘UFC on FX4: Maynard vs. Guida’ pay-per-view, which will be televised
live on June 22, 2012.
The duo will collide on the fight card headlined by the non-title lightweight bout between Clay Guida and Gray Maynard. The octagon for the event will be set up at Revel Casino situated in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
The fight card is basically divided into a main and the preliminary card. The main card will be broadcasted on FX channel whereas the prelims will be on-aired from Fuel TV. The main card will also witness Sam Stout take on Spencer Fisher in a non-title lightweight
bout while constituting the co-main event.
Ross recently gave a detailed interview and shared his thoughts about his upcoming clash with Cub. Pearson, 27, has been in a total of 18 mixed martial art bouts and as far as the experience is considered is slightly overshadowed by Cub’s resume.
Also known as ‘The Real Deal’, Ross is coming from a unanimous decision win over Junior Assuncao. Pearson grabbed media’s attention after collecting a win over decently experienced Spencer Fisher.
While putting forth his thoughts, Ross commented that he does not live an easy life and spends ample time in the gym while refining his kicks and strikes. Ross added that he is super excited on colliding with Cub and expects the Californian to throw his
A-game.
Pearson stated, “I’m super excited because I know Cub is going to be bringing his A-game and is going to be well trained and ready to fight, and I’m going to be ready to fight him.”
Ross, who after the inception of his UFC career has already grabbed two ‘Fight of the night’ awards, remarked that he is 100 percent and will give the fans an explosive showdown adding that he has prepared as if he is entering in a world title bout.
The British pounder stated, “We’re going to get after it. We’re going to come in there and put on a fight for the fans. I always come in 100 percent prepared. I’m 100 percent ready. I’m preparing as if I’m going to fight for a world title. I want to see
how much he's got, how much he wants it. I want to see where I am in this sport and test my abilities with the No. 1 guy.”
Cub, Pearson’s Friday night opponent, has been in a total of 21 mixed martial art bouts and will enter in his third UFC bout. Swanson likes to play the ground game and has collected seven of his total 16 wins by making the opponent submit.
