At the end of a disastrous tour of the Caribbean and the United States of America, Ross Taylor, the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 captain, is devastated with his team’s performance and hopes that the players will take the responsibility on their shoulders
in future.
Having lost the two T20s played in Florida; the Kiwis could only secure one victory in the One Day International (ODI) series, losing by a margin of four games to one.
After a convincing win in the first Test at Antigua, the Caribbean men showed a lot of character in the second game as well, thrashing the visitors by five wickets, to complete a whitewash in the two-match series.
Apart from the performance on the field, the Black Caps struggled outside as well, facing a number of injuries. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Taylor-c92915 himself was not able to play most part of the limited-overs series, having injured his left shoulder in the first
T20, while attempting a catch.
The middle-order batsman is disappointed that his side failed to capitalize, whenever they had a chance to dismantle the home team. On batting friendly conditions in the second Test, the 28-year-old is happy with his bowlers’ efforts
and blamed poor stroke-play for his team’s downfall.
"It's been a disappointing tour all round, we have had our chances in this match, in several matches this tour. The batting needs to take a good hard look at ourselves. There are some positives, the bowlers bowled well on a tough
wicket," said Taylor.
The visitors were bowled out for merely 154 runs in their second innings; whereas, the cricketer from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Wellington-c864 was expecting a score in excess of 270. He wants his young batsmen to learn from their mistakes and focus on converting
their starts into big knocks in future endeavours.
He mentioned, “We needed to set them 270-300 on what was a fourth-day wicket. I think (our batsmen) shouldn't be satisfied with 50-60s, we are a young team, We are getting better every now and then."
New Zealand’s next assignment is in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hyderabad-c792.
