Ross Taylor, the recently removed Kiwi captain, is extremely disheartened by the way he has been treated by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 Cricket (NZC) and feels that the facts are not being revealed honestly.
The hard-hitting middle-order batsman was replaced by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/BB-McCullum-c1129 as the New Zealand skipper in all three formats of the game last week, after the former refused the offer of retaining the Test captaincy.
Taylor was appointed as the New Zealand captain after the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Wellington-c864 was considered to be a long-term choice for the Black Caps.
The 28-year-old player however, did not enjoy the support of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758.
However, Taylor categorically denies that he was offered to retain the Test captaincy and revealed that the coach termed him as a weak leader.
“He said I wasn't a good enough leader, that this team needs a strong leader and that I wasn't a strong leader. If I wasn't a strong leader why would he give me the test captaincy?” Taylor asked. “He said 'Ross, I am going to recommend to [NZC director of cricket] http://www.senore.com/Cricket/John-Marshall-Buchanan-c68302 that we have a new captain for South Africa'.”
In recent past, the Kiwis have not produced too many quality batsmen and Taylor is without doubt their most dependable player, having already scored more than seven thousand runs at the highest stage of the game, with the help of 14 centuries.
The right-hander has withdrawn himself from the upcoming tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 and expressed that it is not possible for him to give his best at the international level with the current state of mind.
“I don't think I could have given 100 per cent. It has been a pretty stressful time for me, especially the last two or three weeks but the last five months have been pretty tough on myself,” said the axed New Zealand skipper.
