The New Zealand captain, Ross Taylor, will not regain his fitness in time to lead the team during the upcoming limited-overs matches against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757.
The Kiwi skipper suffered a calf muscle strain during the second day of the One-off Test against Zimbabwe at Napier, after which he was forced to retire hurt at 122.
While Taylor had already been ruled out of the T20I campaign, scheduled to kick off today at the Westpac Stadium, Wellington, the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Wellington-c864 on February 25.
"While it is early days, our target is to have Ross available for the one-day series against South Africa in late February," Close had said after the Test match against Zimbabwe on January 27.

"When the physio told me four to six weeks I automatically thought four weeks. We'll just see how it goes but I won't be pushing myself. If I'm not quite ready, I'll just have to miss out on the one-dayers." he said.
The right-handed batsman did, however, confirm that he is well on the way to regaining his form.
