Ross Taylor predicts Doug Bracewell can become great – Cricket New Update
New Zealand’s skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/LRPL-Taylor-c1849 believes that young all-rounder Doug Bracewell has the potential to become one of the greats of the game.
Bracewell has played just one Test for the Kiwis and was impressive with the ball, picking up six wickets against Zimbabwe including a five-wicket haul in the second innings.
The youngster failed to make an impression with the bat on that occasion, but will look to score some runs against Australia in the first Test of the two match series, which is scheduled to start from Thursday, December 1, 2011.
According to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Taylor-c92915, his young gun will prove to be a surprise package for the Aussies, as they have not seen him play much.
The Kiwi skipper claimed, “http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Doug-Bracewell-c1394 is a player the Australian public haven't seen a lot of. He's an exciting young talent who can not only bowl fast but is also a handy all-rounder, and he's only 21. I'm sure in years to come he'll be one of the best
all-rounders in the world.”
He further went onto say, “It's nice to see him grow as a person. He thinks a lot more about his bowling than I thought he did a couple of years ago, and that's impressive for a youngster. He had success in his debut against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045 but I'm sure he's looking
forward to bouncier conditions here than a low, slow Bulawayo wicket.”
Bracewell took part in his side’s tour game against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 A and was quite impressive with both bat and ball.
The 21-year-old got a chance to bat in the first innings and made most of the opportunity, scoring an unbeaten 73 runs from 79 balls with the help of nine fours and three massive sixes. He did get a chance to bat in the team’s second outing as well, but
there was not much time left in the match and he scored and unbeaten 13 before close of play.
Other than that, Bracewell was the best bowler in the Kiwi side, picking up four wickets in the match. He will look to carry onto the momentum in the first game against Australia and cement his spot in the side.
