The New Zealand captain, is not wary of the star studded South African line up ahead of the opening Test of the three-match series against the Proteas starting in Dunedin tomorrow, Wednesday March 7, 2012.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 goes into the Test series at the back of morale sapping series defeats in the T20 as well as ODIs, at the hands of same opposition. The Test series will see the return of Ross Taylor, the regular New Zealand skipper, and
he will be taking back his position from his deputy Brendom McCullum. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/BB-McCullum-c1129 was the acting captain in his absence.
Ross http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045 in January earlier this year. He missed the one day and T20 series not only against Zimbabwe but
also against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757. Last week he proved his fitness and was cleared for the Test series against the Proteas.
But after a capitulating performance against South Africans in the one-day leg of the home series, the New Zealand fans do not have much hope attached with their team for the Test series. Taylor also said that they have stars in their
line-up who are match winners, and was confident they will make a strong comeback in the five-day format of the game.
"We play international cricket and we've got a couple [of big names] on our side as well," said Taylor speaking to media reporters ahead of the opening Test of the three-match series.
"I'm sure they know about http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DL-Vettori-c1384. We've played against some pretty fast bowlers in the past. It's nothing different," he added further.
The middle order batsman said that most of the players in the South African camp have not played much cricket in New Zealand conditions and they will try to capitalise on this.
"There are a lot of players in the South African team who haven't played much cricket and haven't batted in New Zealand conditions, which is completely different to batting in South Africa. We've got to use that to our advantage,"
said Taylor.
