I just hope that ALL the teams step up to the plate [ like Ducati did ] and start pushing the envelope to new levels.

Ohh well, looks like I owe " 51 " a few beers & ROLL ON 2008 !!

  1. stoner is good its not like he lost the title to a shmuck

  2. would you say its fair to assume that even at his home GP Yamaha were testing next year specs. and maybe the yam will not take the revs they were hoping for.

  3. It's hard to admit something like that. He has so many titles and now he is not afraid to say that Ducati were better. This is one of the stuff for which I like Rossi so much. They have a few races left. I hope they start doing something about that bike or the next season will be lost too. Although I'm sure that with having Lorenzo on board and Rossi as his team mate they will just need to fix the bike problems and change the tyres, after that it's supposed to be all fun :)

Besides, it's not fun winning every year ;)

  4. Yeh I think he and JB gave up a while ago (for this season at least), but now its in black and white. As A.Nik said one of the many good things about Vale is that he's not a sore looser, and has said that Casey deserves the Championship. Yes the Ducati is probably the best machine at the moment. But its Casey thats made all the difference. There are another 3 out there. One of which is the same spec as Casey's (the other 2 aren't far off), with a proven race winner on board. And where are they in the championship? 8th 10th and 11th respectively!

It was good to see in Misano that Yamaha were willing to take risks in order to try and close the gap with Ducati. And I'm sure in the long run it will pay dividends, and next year we'll see a much improved M1. But the bike that needs to raise its game even more is the Honda. Still with all the resources at their disposal, it shouldn't be too much of a problem to make it competitive again.

Stoner will still be pretty hard to beat, but if anyone can, it will be Rossi. As I've mentioned before, I think it will be Vale's final season in Moto GP before he moves over to WRC, and he'll want to go out on top. Whether he can remains to be seen. The biggest reason for him to stay in Moto GP will be if he doesn't win.

So for next season I predict a closer much harder battle for the top.........with the main protagonists being (in no particular order) Stoner, Rossi, Pedrosa, and I'm gonna stick my neck out here, Vermeulen. With the occasional good showing from Melandri, Hopkins,  Lorenzo and Hayden.

Obviously there's plenty of other names that could do well. Thats why its the pinnacle of world Motorcycle racing. (I hope JT is a regular podium visitor)

So as you rightly say Wiggy....Roll on 2008!

  5. Rossi is still d**n good, but the Yamaha isn't up to the job.

Stoner and Ducati are the best combination by far, while the ducati is a great bike, it still took Stoner to ride it the best, and remember, he didn't crumble when Rossi put pressure on him either.

It will be interesting if Yamaha gets it's act together for 2008, then the fireworks should really be happening.

Note please: the other teams aren't slouches either, so .........
