Dont worry, I dont mean Vale #46 Rossi, I mean Louis Rossi in the 125 class !

My point is, have the j*p's given up on 2 stroke racing now ?

Are they putting all the effort in to the blue ribbon class ? This : http://www.motogp.com/en/motogp/motogp_results.htm?event_id=3587&subevent_id=5853&gallery_id=52553&championship_id=1 would lead you to think so.

So would this : http://images.motogp.com/multimedia2/1035/1035111.pdf . 11th and last for the j**s? thats unheard off.

Im sure that not that long ago a young kid called Dani Pedrosa won a couple of world titles on a Honda, so did a fella called Katosan.

Funny how the world turns I guess.

  1. Hi wiggysan

The last time Honda invested anything in 2-stroke racing was 2005 with Dani Pedrosa.

It's all to do with commercialism. It won't be long before emissions regulations mean that 2-strokes will be banned from the road.

Honda didn't get where they are today but investing in something that they can't turn into a profit.

  2. Hey Wiggy

It would appear so, but then I haven't seen that many 125 Repsol replica's on the roads lately - but have seen bundles of race spec. Aprilla's!

I think manufacturers used to want to catch their customers young (and keep them - hopefully!) but it would appear that Honda seem more interested in selling to the top end of the market and of course, who wouldn't want to be on the top step in the top class?

  3. true right

  4. I think 2-strokes will be phased out in time, and they will be on the club scene, and die a natural death,

There will be a lower cc format of 4stroke.

In TRIALS there is 4stroke bikes now which would have seemed impossible not that long ago.

Going by Honda machines in the125-250 class its hard to see it any other way.

What you will also find is there is pressure from governing body's to clean up MOTO-GP- all linked to green issues.

Honda being HONDA like to take the lead.

Good or bad it will eventually filter on to road 2-strokes
