  1. Rossi is dreaming and running a scare tactic to Yamaha. In 2009 he will be all but forgotten by the Italian team. Rossi will be 30.

The team will have world champion Casey Stoner and Italian Marco Melandri. Since Casey won them the first championship he is not going anywhere. Melandri is younger and will flourish with a full factory ride. Rossi thus has no spot unless a privateer Ducati is set up specifically for him.

He may be better off going back to Honda. They will spend the money as they always want that championship and I can't see Hayden doing it.

RIP Rossi no matter what happens.

  2. Valentina Rossi needs to retire and find new challenges.  What ever happened to F1.  I would have loved to see him fill the void that Michael Schumacher left, and the Italians would be overjoyed to see an Italian in their beloved Ferrari car.

  3. It would be pretty cool for Stoner and Rossi to both be on Ducatis, but we'll all just have to wait and see what happens.

  4. I don't think thst Ducati will have forgotten about Rossi by 2009-he's audience favourite rider all around the world,he may not have won the title the past 2 years but he's in top 3 anyway and Ducati are Italian. In my view this is just a strategy towards Yamaha.

  5. Rossi had the chance to ride for Ducati before, but went to Yamah because they would give him more freedom.  He might have lost his chance, unless he rides for another Ducati team.

It WOULD have ben interesting to see Rossi and Stoner both on Ducatis; but I think it is faint hope.

  6. I am getting really sick of hearing about this! This news got in everybody's mouths and it is not a thing that we will figure out until the next season comes... And Rossi will not leave his old team so easily. I'm starting to wonder if he is not doing this just to scare them? And lets not forget that Vale is someone who likes challenges, what is so interesting about one of the best bikes? I'm not so sure he would enjoy just sitting back and winning every now and then.

Still, there is lots of time to see what's going to happened. 2008 hasn't even started and we began to talk about 2009...

  7. I have a sneaky feelng Rossi will go out in 2008 in style by beating Ago's all time win record, take another championship, then quit !

Who could blame him? If he walked away from the sport tomorrow, ( although it would be a great loss ) he would still be one of [if not THE]  greatest motorcycle racer that ever lived.

Sad it before, I will say it again ............ Roll on 2008 !

  8. It would be cool to see him on an Italian bike, but he should stop to act as a diva because even if i really love him maybe other people will think he's capricious and acts as a star, so it might irritate some people and he's already nicknamed by some : Massimiliano Rossi... :s

i think it's just a way to threaten Yamaha.
