Rosslyn Castle favourite for Windsor Vehicle Leasing wvl.com Maiden Stakes (Div I)
Rosslyn Castle has the best chance of winning the Windsor Vehicle Leasing wvl.com Maiden Stakes (Div I) at Windsor in England on Monday, April 16, 2012. The winner of the class-5 event will bag a cash prize of £2,264.
The going will be good in the 1 mile, 2 furlong and 7 yard race, which is scheduled to start at 15:30 GMT and a total of nine runners will be seen in action in it.
Following are the entries confirmed for the event: Rosslyn Castle, Ace Of Valhalla, Scottish Vespers, Aegaeus, Just When, Brundon, Morilles, Curly Come Home and Tom Red.
Earlier, 10 entries had been confirmed for the race, but Proofreader has been ruled out of action due to an injury. He was one of the top contenders for victory and could have made things quite interesting, had he participated in the event.
The bookmakers have shown full faith in the abilities of Rosslyn Castle, who is a very good performer. He has a decent record, thus the punters will be placing a lot of bets in his favour today.
The three-year-old colt has participated in one race until now, finishing fourth in it. He was one of the least expected runners to do well in that event, but still managed to cause a few problems for his rivals. He could have finished amongst the top three,
but ran out of gas towards the end.
Importantly, the Roger Charlton’s trainee is carrying very good momentum at the moment and it will be hard for the rest of the runners to match his speed and skills in today’s race.
Rosslyn Castle will be partnered by seasoned jockey, James Doyle, who has won quite a few races at this level. His strike rate is below par and he needs to improve that in order to attract more bets.
On the other hand, Ace Of Valhalla will also be a force to reckon at Windsor today, as he is a quality performer. He has taken part in a couple of races until now, winning none of them. The best he could manage was a runner up spot once.
Other than the top two favourites, Scottish Vespers, Aegaeus and Just When will also be the ones to watch out for in the race at Windsor.
