  1. 1. Do not grasp your snake by its neck. Rather, slide one hand under it about a third of the way back from its head, the other hand about a quarter of the way forward from the tail tip, and holding the snake loosely lift slowly. the snake will hold onto you.

    2. Many people use aspen. I use cage carpet put out by zoo med. It is easier to clean and keep clean. You can also use indoor outdoor carpet.

    3. I would suggest that you do feed in another tank other than his home. That way there will be no mistake that it is your hand coming in its tank and not food.

    4. The size of the food item should not be bigger than the girth of the widest part of the snake.

  2. to handle the rosy boa is just like any other snake... you gently pick it up by the mid section and let it go through your hands of its own accord, supporting its mid to back section its not that hard and a thoroughly enjoyable experience!  Rosy boas are classed as a "burrowing" boa and will be found under rocks and logs.  A mulch substrate a few inches deep will be suitable but they can be kept on paper if they have a low hiding place at the warm and cool side of the viv..... As for feeding it is always better to feed your snake outside of its viv as this will stop you from getting struck when you put your hand in to handle it  and also stops the snake from swallowing the substrate which could harm it!!! A container that is big enough for your snake to move around a little, would suffice...the size of the food should be 1 to 1 and a half times the size of thickest part of its girth, if its a baby(fuzzies) every 4-5 days when its a adult(Adult mouse) this should be every 10 days! oh and its best to get one that hasstarting feeding as they are well known to be hard snakes to start off feeding! f/t (frozen/thawed) are good as they wont injure your snake! hope this has been a help! good luck!!!!!
