Rotary phone leave off what letters in the alphabet?

teacher told me certain letters were on the phone there were at least three what are they?

q  and  z. ;  only two, not three. I have three at&t rotaries and will never get any other. I wont have to these will last another 100 yrs.

  I am looking at them right now.   Very cool.  Stylish.

To my knowledge, Q and Z were the only letters left off the old rotary phones.  There were 8 numbers with letters, 2 through 9.  Each number had 3 letters for a total of 24.  This means that only 2 letters were left out.  See the link below for a picture of an old rotary dial number dial plate.

I believe it was Q X and Z

Originally all letters were on rotary dials then (due to the confusion between Q and O as well as Z and 2) the Q and Z were removed.
