Question:

Rotating your birth chart when you change countries? Have you heard of this?

I heard that some astrologers think it may be useful to people to rotate their chart according to the time zone of the new place they are in when they move countries (for holiday or otherwise).

They think that in countries other than your birth you will be influenced differently by the planets.

Have you heard of this? Any experience with it?

  1. It's called a relocation chart, and your original chart is always the strongest.

The way to do a relocation chart: Use the exact same info, except location. Adjust the time accordingly. If you were born at noon, and the new location is 6 hours later, then use 6pm.

All this chart will reveal is different positions of the planets in the houses. Everything else remains the same. All you may find is different areas of your life getting a little more attention. You will still be the exact same person as before, except your focus may shift slightly.

As an example, suppose you have Sun/Mercury & Venus conjunct in Capricorn in the 12th house. That might make you a little more hidden and subconscious. Suppose you move somewhere that puts that trio in the 19th house? It might make you more public, since it moves them to the public/career house... but you are still that Sun/Mercury & Venus in the 12th house person... you're just a little more open.

What I am trying to say is, there are no extra-beneficial or extra-difficult places to move on earth... you are still you. The same issues and strengths and weaknesses apply.

  2. It's called a relocation chart.  You redo your chart using your new location and adjusting your birth time accordingly.  It can give some insight as to how your new location may affect you differently than your birth place.  However, your natal chart is still your natal chart.

  3. Yes, Ive heard of it, a "relocation" chart. However it makes NO sense to me. You were born where you were born, and those are the stars which are of concern. The stars of your birth do not change if you simply move to somewhere else in the world of TODAY. If astrology works as they say, how does moving to another location change the stars of your birth? Like I said, it makes NO sense. Sounds like something extra to charge a fee for...
