  1. Dont take this the wrong way, but you would be insulting your Rotel by matching it up with Bose anything. Rotel is high end audio equipment that is generally loved and liked by audiophiles. Bose on the other hand is a product of great marketing. Go do some research on any mid-high end AV forum and you'll find that Bose is generally very disliked because of its cost and its relatively poor audio performance. I would go check out speakers from B&W or Paradigm. If you bought your Rotel from a dealer, they should be able to recommend a good set of matching speakers and I promise you it wont be Bose.

  2. You will need a Bose Equaliser connected between the speakers and the Amplifier to get a flat response. There are different Equalisers for different Bose 901  Series . Do you have the correct Bose Equaliser ? 100 watts/channel Amplifier should be sufficient for the Bose speakers. Is the Amp rating in RMS or Continuous watts ?

One important question....Have you heard the sound from a 901 Bose speaker ? - direct/reflecting principle

EDIT.....djseto... is correct about Bose Speakers in general. However, the 901 Series are totally different from other Bose Speakers. These speakers were designed prior to the Home Theater phenomenon where sound quality was paramount. Each speaker enclosure contains nine 4inch full range drivers ,one in front of the enclosure and eight at the rear. They are capable of reproducing a very wide and deep sound stage, due to the back firing speakers which use the rear wall to reflect 90%of the sound. This is to simulate the concert hall experience where most of the sound is reflected off the hall boundaries with only a small portion arriving directly at your ears. But it depends if you like your music this way or not. Some people are still using the original Bose 901 made in1968.
