I could kill dh (my husband) but I am not stressing over it.

heres the thing.

While I was gone dh let some chicken go bad, didn't use it. So he threw it in the trash, meaning to take the trash out. Well he forgot (men right)and so I walked into the house yesterday after a 6 hour flight and it smells sssssoooooooo bad. I made him throw it out. I cleaned the house before going to bed, febreezed it and have all the fans and windows open but I can still smell it. it is so gross.

Any ideas on how to air out the house. It permiates the whole top floor. HELP!!!!

  1. maybe there was still some liquid left when your husband threw the trash, because that's the nastiest stinker when it comes to rotten frozen food. If it still stinks, buy some odor neutralizer or something like that(Lysol's NeutraAir works pretty well for me).

  2. Try bleaching the trash can. Buy some of that Anywhere Bleach Spray and spray it around the house. See if that works. If not, throw out the trash can and buy another one!

  3. make sure the juices didn't go thru a hole and get into the bottom of the bin...put some baking soda in there also maybe

    good luck

  4. Salted water and also bicarb of soda left dry in pot are good odour absorbers. It will help...but we had a turkey that went off in a broken down freezer and the room stank for a while. Just do what you are doing as well, now and it'll eventually go. I promise!!!
