Rotting metal in trunk

i have a 1993 chevy cavalier and i saw that the metal in the trunk where the shocks are is starting to rott away not fully rotter is there a way to fix this or do i just take the shocks out and weld new metal and undercoat it?

  1. go to a salvage yard and have them cut the pieces you need from a good car then cut your old rusty pieces out and weld the new ones in and paint it good then undercoat it,that will work ,its a lot of work but if you want to save the car ,this may be the only option you have,good luck.


  2. that makes sense what dodge man said. that is your best bet, to have the junk yard cut some good ones off another cavalier and you can have them welded on yours.
