  1. I'm sure you are aware that  lot of Rotties are bred by people who have no real love for the breed and are in it just for the money.  Therefore, I strongly recommend that you avoid picking out a breeder from a random list you find on the Web.

If you want to get a dog from someone who really cares about Rottweilers, I suggestion you get in touch with the local Rottweilers club, which is called the Emerald Valley Rottweilers Club of Cleveland.  The people there can point you to reputable breeders, which many club members already are.

Another good choice is the Rottweiler Rescue.  They take dogs from people who have to give them up.  Often, the owner gets older and can't care for a dog any more, or the owner dies, or he has to move to a place that doesn't allow dogs.  The Rottweiler Rescue--again, composed of people who love Rotties--arrange for good homes for these dogs.  A rescued Rottweiler is a great choice if you don't want the hassle of taking care of a puppy.  The local Rescue can be contacted through the Rottweilers Club.

Good luck, and I hope this helps.

  2. Call Dr. Robert Wicks, DVM, at Dahl House Kennel.  He can tell you who to call.  He's owned Rotts for years.
