Rough Skinned Newt infection?

My rough skinned newt might have been attacked and the tip of her tail is gone, and now there is like a yellow fungus cloud around it, is that bad or just the healing process? Also she won't eat so is the infection causing that?

  1. yes it bad. and what do u mean attacked what have u got living with it. never mix species this animal should only be housed with other rough skinned newts. if they are fighting u need a bigger tank

ok its a fungal infection of an open wound u need to take it to a herp (reptile and amphibian) vet asap (today) either that or a trained exotics vet. it need to be quarantined (separated) away from any other living thing (a plastic storage box is good for this) and the tank its currently in and everything in it needs to be cleaned thoroughly with an amphibian safe disinfectant (buy this from most good pet stores) and carefully rinsed.
