  1. Now now "Roughly Practicing Muslims" gee that's a bit borderline isn't it ?   :)

  2. Believe me not many people practice in Turkey.Turkey is so much different than other muslim countries.Women are free to wear a head scarf or not, however it is restricted in govermental areas and that is fine. Not so many women are willing to wear head scarfs today.Aprox. % 30 of the women,it depends on the area, wear headscarfs in Turkey and it decreases day after day.

when it comes to practising mostly older generations prefer to practise daily.Mostly Turkish people are not religious muslims so i'd say a % 20 of people practise daily and it also decreases.

  3. About 80% of the people in Turkey are Turks who originally come from central Asia, while 17% are Kurds who are in a majority in the eastern and southeastern territories. The remaining 3% is a variety of smaller ethnic groups, including Greeks, Armenians, and Jews . About 65% of the total population is now classified as urban people. Although Ankara is the capital of Modern Turkey, Istanbul is still the largest city and also industrial , commercial, and intellectual center of the country.

  4. it's too hard to say something about big cities what i was wondering is that instead of practicing islam why arabs and some other muslim countries didn't want to follow turkey's path while they were seeking comfort under brit protection our aim is modernizing people and religion through rationalist education systems i dont really care about what percentage if they consider themselves as muslims so they're

  5. I know that Turkey is 99.8% Muslim, but it's extremely difficult to tell how many are practising because there are so many different definitions of practising. From my experience there, many of the women wear head coverings (80%-ish in Istanbul), though not all. However, it seems that the Turkish love for Raki (an anise flavoured liquor not unlike Ouzo) says something about religious views. Outside of the larger cities, I would imagine that there is a higher percentage of practising Muslims, as is with any place.

  6. almost a 100% its in the middle east after all
