Roughly about how many raw marks is 8 UMS marks?

I'm talking about in A levels, as I got my results today and I missed my uni condition in french by 8 UMS marks! ;(

I'm getting it remarked in the slight hope that I can gain those marks somewhere.

Anyone have any idea approx. how many raw marks this is?

It depends on how many UMS marks you received overall. Add them all up and then work it out as a percentage

If you didn't get the university of your choice you could always go through clearing.

That is it. the UMS is the amount of marks you get out of a certain number. Like in English Lit its out of 600 (actually all A levels are out of 600). So there are 600 UMS points. Meaning you lost out by 8 UMS marks in your exam paper.

Let the Uni know they are always sympathetic. Or go into clearing. Dont wait another year over something so small. Do get it remarked though if you feel you deserve the grade
