just wont a rough price for a lockably sea container for a bout 10 months

This is a great idea for storage.  They are water, pest proof plus reasonable secure.  

There is a company called Royal Wolf who do this.

I asked them the same question and discovered that within a year or so the rent would have paid for one so renting is a short term answer.    

I recall they cost about $2,500 to buy a good one delivered in Sydney.    While renting was a little cheaper, but dont forget that you will have to also pay the return shipping cost.  

(about $250) Where as one you own you could sell it when you are finished.    

Also remember to view the container you will buy as relying on them could see you get a low quality one.

BIG NOTE:

The heat inside a shipping container is very high in summer.

Do not store liquids or things that high head can affect.  

Only store furniture etc.
