Question:

Roughly how much would it cost to have a new downstairs cloakroom installed?

I am looking at buying the suite myself (small hand basin and loo), but would need the supply of floor and wall tiles (4 walls, full height).

Roughly how much would the installation and tiling cost? It is a tiny room, approx 1 metre by 1.8 metres. Also, is there any benefit to asking the installer to source the suite?

Thanks in advance!

  1. I dont wish to sound sarcastic, but, how long is a piece of string?

Its about quality of fittings, and time, to tile, etc.

Go to BQ on a sale day, or borrow a Diamond card off a senior.

    Offer cash in hand----get a 15% discount

  2. You can't see it, but how long is this piece of string, impossible to tell isn't it.

Here's an idea, ring some local installers who will come round measure up discuss what you want doing then provide you with a written estimate, get a least 3 for comparison then pick the one you feel most capable of doing the job to your satisfaction. Buying your own sanitary not always best idea as trade may get discount price from suppliers.

  3. Depending on the price of the tiles I'd say £700/800 maybe more.

It cost me £120 just to have the tiles laid in my cloakroom and bathroom - the cloaks is small and the bathrooms about 5' x 10'.

That didn't include the cost of the tiles.

You could try "Bathstore" they seem pretty reasonable also Homebase

They've got nice tiles and sanitary ware.
