Rougue anti virus?how do i get rid of it?

hi opened an e.mail from what i thought ups,coincidentaly expecting a parcel,it pur win xp 2008 on my comp,desktop turned white,it wont let me open search and destroy and wont let me restore to earlier time,please help,how do i get rid of it?iv also tried add/remove programes and it wont remove it,it askes for 99.99 which obviously they have no chance,help,please

Try system restore on your start menu i had this and it was the only way i found to sort it!

Go to start then all programs/ acessorys/system tools/system restore

i think your best option is to download Micro Anti Virus, its not free but highly recomend this software,

Your only option is to install CLAMWIN.

ClamWin is a Free Antivirus for Microsoft Windows

that uses the GNU General Public License by the Free Software

Foundation and is free (as in freedom) software.

There is a portable version of ClamWin where it can be install into an USB thumb drive.

First use another PC to download Clamwin portable anti-virus

and install Clamwin portable on a USB thumb drive.

Update the latest anti-virus definition files.

Set the preferences to delete virus.

When the USB thumb drive is ready.

Boot up the infected PC in safe mode {press F8}.

Run the Clamwin Anti-virus that is installed on the USB drive to scan the infected PC.

Scan all hard drives for viruses.

After removing the virus, install c**p cleaner (ccleaner) to get rid of the left over setting in the windows registry.
