Question:

Roullette at the Casino - I love it and always seem to win. Luck Vs Skill?

I always seem to win at the Casino when I play roullette. I usually only play Black/Red or Dozens. Does anybody else use the same strategy with success/failure or use any other techniques they find are great? Does anybody believe that it isn't luck but it involves the skill of maximising your luck? I've won close to $4000 net.

  1. it seems that you are employing a mathematical betting system that has been working well for you.

I would suggest that you are working the math, and using a degree of skill to operate within the table's odds and probabilities. If you were betting the numbers as opposed to the twelves, you would be relying on luck, but your system on the twelves and the black/red is reducing the house advantage and justifying your risk with appropriate payouts. it is good math, or the skill of a diciplined system.

    Keep up the good work.

  2. There is nothing you do to reduce the house edge at the game of roulette, so any time you win it's primarily luck.

But, that doesn't mean you're not a skilled gambler. A skilled gambler at a roulette table does one thing well, and that's manage his money. He will walk away when he loses his buy in, and will set benchmarks to leave when he's up. This type of technique will put you in more situations to walk away a winner than the average player.

Will you give it all back in the long run? Probably if you play enough, but not necessarily. The house edge WILL get you in the end, but the long run can be very, very long. If you play thousands and thousands of spins in your lifetime, you will likely lose. But if you go to the casino a few times a year, play say 100 spins then leave, you're not in a position where you cannot come out ahead with some lucky spins.

In the end, you're probably playing well. Just don't expect it to last forever. Play within your budget and have fun. If you lose you lose, but if you continue to win, don't quit your day job.

  3. It's luck.  If you think otherwise and happen to be right by some strange set of circumstances, stop talking about it now before casinos close this loophole that has someone escaped them for decades, and get thee into an unusual and lucrative career as a professional roulette player.

  4. There is no such thing as skill in roulette. A beginner has the same chance to win as someone who plays everyday kind of like Bingo.
