  1. The odds are not calculable, as the events are not  linked events, every time a bet is placed and the ball spun there is no connection to previous events, so it could come up a1,000 times in a row, and still be the same odds, it is not like cards where a decks value diminishes for some card values, as play goes on, the odds of the event are 12/37 i.e. 12 chances out of thirty seven, I watched a customer who argued that given enough money, and enough patience, you could beat a Casino, every time, and his reasoning was that if you were only trying to win, a small amount, you pick a number, then bet the table minimum, and every 35 spins later you increase your bet by that minimum, eventually covering the splits, corners and streets, lines, dozens, and even chances, columns, increasing your bet every time, by just one chip,  every time that the odds on a bet reached their maximum value (when a column has happened 2 times, a dozen 2 times a corner 7 times etc, ) eventually the casino will pay out, (it is what is known as a Martingale system, this doubling or increasing bet structure) it is true, that the casino will probably eventually pay you, and you will win a return of the minimum stake you bet, but look at how much you will have to spend, to do it, straight ups alone with a fifty pence minimum bet, 35 times 35 = £17.50+ 35times £1 = £47.50+ 35 times £1.50 =£95+ 35 times £2 =£165, and you have already gone 105 spins, (about 1 hour and forty minutes) do that for two days and you are losing £ 53,000 pounds. and betting huge amounts to win 50p, I know, because I watched it happen, and the man is correct, but it would take a month of sundays for this kind of event to happen, the odds for a single event are calculated by the events for / events against, i.e. the odds for are 12, the odds against 25 , 12 into 25, goes 2.8333r "two point eight three three three recurring", no other odds matter, as this is always an individual event, the wheel and ball have no memory of previous occurrences, and are not influenced as a result, and if any one ever believes that a croupier can influence the ball, in it's spin , ask why the croupier does not have a family gathering around the table that prevents you getting a seat? it really is random, but what will affect the result ,is the efficiency of some staff, who are simply much better at what they do than others..... the proper term for linked events, is the term "cumulative odds", and they do apply for card games in some instances, as a blackjack deck slowly is dealt, the odds of a card appearing are diminished by the previous appearance of that card, and this can be used as information to calculate new odds, for an event occurring, this is called "card counting", and is a way of working out the new odds by taking (mental note) of the cards values that are missing, from the pack because they are used during play, the recent filnm 21 shows this as entertainment, it is not, it is work, and the film implies these kids were smart, no they were not, they broke the number one rule DO NOT GET NOTICED, because if you are caught the game is over, and you can not earn any more, please do not take this as a training guide, it is not that good, and is just entertainment, nothing more,. lastly there is a form of calculation, that can be done, to infer whether cumulative odds are likey to influence an outcome, it is known as the rule of equipartition, and I mean no offence, when I say that if you can not work out that there is no way to infer the chances of any event happening that involves a "dozen" on a roullette table, or why, you could not deal with a calculation for equipartiton, and its logic. lastly I have been working in Casinos long enough to have seen this event happen on at least three occassions, once with a croupier as "victim" it is rare but it does happen   !!! the odds are resolutely 2-1 against this event every time, it takes place, it will not change,ever.....Dear Lucky lov, you really need to check your facts, before saying these things, you will mislead someone into a massive loss, if you do not under stand the logic behind what is happening in this type of game.....

  2. Most of the answers are quite good, Lucky Love's has good math and AT although long is also not far of the mark he just shouldn't have said the odds are not calculable because they obviously are.

There is no real point to this question as you can't bet on a forecasted result.

  3. Odds are 783 to 1 for missing your dozen bet 17 times in a row.

Assuming a European Roulette table, the probability of missing your dozen are 25/37. So missing 17 in a row is (25/37)^17 or 0.001275% or about 1 in 784 or 783 to 1 or very bloody unlucky.

  4. no idea

  5. Read up on the law of probability. Yeah the odds are probably right but the ball could still land on the same number 20 times in a row or more.

  6. Luckylove's answer is correct but I want to clarify something because it seems this question was misunderstood. You probably already know this but.......

The odds are 783 to 1 however after your dozen missed 16 times in a row the odds that it will miss again on the next spin making it 17 total are only 2.1 to 1. This is what most roulette players just can't understand and why their systems fail.

Likewise with the hitting 2 numbers in a row straight up scenario. It would be1368 to 1 against the same specific numbers to hit in a row. But after it hit the first time the odds are now 36 to 1 for it to hit again. Not 1368 to 1 that it won't.

    Kinda confusing.

A T That sure was a long winded answer too bad you didn't quite understand the question.

  7. Truthmerchant says.....On a real table the chances are the same EVERTIME the dealer spins the wheel. I have seen people pile big money on red just because there has been 12 black numbers in a row. The chances are still the same as the roulette wheel does not have a memory. The chances of the ball landing in a second dozen number when the dealer spins the wheel are 12/37 = 32.43243 % chance. You CAN NOT beat the roulette wheel and there are NO roulette systems that are fool proof. I have seen them ALL and they are ALL have faults. If you play roulette at a casino YOU WILL lose over a lifetime. The 2.7% mark up the casino has on roulette WILL mean you will lose if you play it enough times. Sorry but there are more intellegent people than me and you and they cant find a roulettte system. The tables dont need to be rigged as the "mark up" the table has will ensure you will lose eventually.
