    2. what do you want us to round to the nearest thousand?

    you round to the nearest thousand by looking at the hundreths place and determining whether it is large enough to round up. so for example, lets say the number is 1678. you look at the 6 because it is in the hundreths place. is it greater than or equal to 5? yes it is. so you round up to 2000.

    but if the number is 4325, then because the 3 is lower than 5, you round down. in this case, the answer would be 4000.
