Round up: San Francisco Giants clean sweep San Diego Padres 3-0
National League’s San Francisco Giants and San Diego Padres, both went head to head in inspiring three game series. Giants did an astonishing job as they crushed the Padres 3-0 in this series. San Francisco have had a mixed season so far as they attained
a reasonable Win-Loss record during second half of the regular season.
Let us take an overview of these thrilling games.
Game 1 - September 12 : San Francisco Giants 8 – San Diego Padres 3

Giants managed an 8-3 win in the first game, as Eric Surkamp was notable with his pitching. He was unable to strike-out batters but threw his respective innings with an ERA of 3.24 to give the Giants a convincing victory. Cody Ross was excited after this
win as he said, “It's nice to get back-to-back games like this from the offense. It's been a lot looser in here the last five or six days. Everyone's not so uptight and tense and trying to hard. Maybe that is the key.”
Conversely, Padres were able to put in just three runs. Aaron Harang pitched well for San Diego but that was not enough to clinch a win for his team. He was able to strike-out just four batters during his 93 pitches and gave away two walks, six hits, four
runs and four earned runs.
Game 2 - September 13: San Francisco Giants 3 – San Diego Padres 2

In the second game, Giants outclassed the Padres 3-2. Giants’ starter, Matt Cain pitched the ball in correct line as he threw just over six innings and permitted just one earned run, four hits, three walks and one run with an ERA of 2.79. Cain had six strike-outs
on his 106 pitches.
Speaking to reporters, Mark DeRosa said, “It's a tough situation, we all know that. We still want to keep playing hard and never forget we're the defending world champions.”
Padres’ pinch hitters Aaron Cunningham and Kyle Blanks both singled to put two runs collectively on the score-board. Cory Luebke had an insecure day with the ball as he threw six innings with an ERA of 3.27 and permitted 10 hits, two runs, zero walks and
two earned runs.
Game 3 - September 14: San Francisco Giants 3 – San Diego Padres 1

During the final game of the series, Padres lost 3-1. Giants’ right-fielder Carlos Beltran shined as he hit double RBIs including two runs and went 2-for-3 with an average of .298. Padres’ manager, Bud Black praised Beltran and said, “Beltran is one of the
best players in the National League. And he's got that in him.”
Cameron Maybin was the only player for the Padres to score a single run. However, a group effort kept the Giants on top throughout the three-game series.
