Round-up day three – DP World Tour Championship
Luke Donald continued his excellent run of form at the DP World Tour Championship and, once again, carded a bogey free round.
The Englishman shot six-under-par 66. The world number two has now gone past 100-holes without carding a bogey at the Jumeirah Golf Estates.
Donald was surprised when he was told that he is on a bogey free run in Dubai, "I'm not sure I can believe that. That's pretty good. I guess that's my style - I don't make too many mistakes".
"It's going to be fun - great for the crowd and everyone watching around the world. Hopefully we can make some birdies".
Donald is currently sharing the lead with fellow Ryder Cupper and world number one, Rory McIlroy. The Irishman was also in hot form, as he shot a magnificent six-under as well on a day that saw numerous scores in 60s.
Although McIlroy has already secured the title for Race to Dubai, he is still eager to win the tournament in Dubai.
Rory was been feeling well over the last couple of days but his desire to be the best just keeps driving him day in and day out.
"I woke up at four and was not feeling great, but I guess the adrenaline keeps you going when playing," he said.
“I know I'm excited about it, and I'm sure a lot of people are. It will be a great way to finish the 2012 European Tour season”, said Rory when he was asked about a possible duel between him and the world number two, Donald.
Donald was outstanding on the front nine, whereas, just like the previous rounds, Rory McIlroy was superb on the back nine.
The tournament is set for an enthralling finish at the Jumeirah Golf Estates. It could not have been bigger than this, with two of the world’s finest golfers going head to head.
The two South Africans, Charl Schwartzel and Louis Oosthuizen, lurk behind the world number one and two at fourteen-under.
The world number 32, Schwartzel, seems to be back in form after his rib injury. He is driving the ball extremely well and a decent fourth round will make things interesting.
Thongchai Jaidee, one of the few successful Asians on the tour, is also progressing nicely at the DP World Tour Championship.
The Thailand number one golfer is eleven-under for the tournament and is playing some of the best golf of his life.
