Roush Fenway Racing announce key partnerships with 3M and Greg Biffle – NASCAR news
Roush Fenway Racing recently announced that the team has extended its contract with 3M and Greg Biffle for three more years.
With the new contracts, Roush Fenway Racing will carry 3M and Greg Biffle with them through the 2014 season of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.
3M and Roush Fenway Racing have shared a partnership since 2005 while and Biffle made a debut in the NASCAR with this team in 1998. For some reason, terms and conditions of the contract were not disclosed.
“I am thrilled with the prospect of continuing the relationship we have with 3M and what that, paired with the talent of Greg Biffle, means for the success of the No. 16 team at Roush Fenway Racing,” said team owner Jack Roush.
The RFR team has committed a great partnership with 3M in order to achieve more success. It will be a good pair between Biffle and 3M to help win the season.
“We set the bar pretty high early on with 3M and they have stood by us on our best and worst days over the years,” said Biffle.
The 3M Company has sorted some of its issues to make their sponsorship more effective in the NASCAR in order to express diversity of their business. Biffle was really amazed to see their plan of work and feels that could not find a better sponsor with
his continuity at RFR.
After their contract for the 2005 season, 3M stepped up in 2006 to be the primary sponsors for RFR in the Nationwide Series. In 2008, 3M was again backing RFR as the primary sponsor for the team in Sprint Cup Series.
“Our relationship with Greg, Jack and the entire Roush Fenway organization has been great for our business,” said Bob MacDonald, 3M senior vice president. MacDonald was excited on behalf of the company to announce their next level programme.
RFR is now planning to keep the points’ leader Carl Edwards in the house.
RFR president Steve Newmark announced that he is highly optimistic to propose new terms which will help Edwards to continue with RFR as he is the biggest free agent in NASCAR. The deal is expected to be finalised before the 2011 mid-summer.
Carl Edwards has also revealed that negotiations are on a pause as he wants to concentrate on the ongoing season, which is being termed the best start of his career and can prove to be a title-winning run. On the other hand, Newmark said the negotiations
were in progress.
Carl and Newmark are discussing an extension of contract but both agree to have their focus on the present 2011 season championship, as Newmark is hoping to bag a championship title with Carl Edwards and the sponsor Aflac this season.
