Roush Fenway Racing’s sponsorship renewed by Cargill Beef for 2013 – NASCAR news
For the fourth consecutive year, Roush Fenway Racing will be getting a title sponsorship for its Nationwide Series campaign from Cargill Beef.
Ford Motor Company being the other sponsor of Roush Fenway Racing’s Nationwide campaign, Cargill will be the primary sponsor for 10 Nationwide races in the upcoming season out of a total of 33 races.
No. 6 Ford Mustang, the car used by Roush Fenway Racing in its Nationwide campaign, is primarily sponsored by Cargill Beef. Roush Fenway is one of the most successful NASCAR Nationwide Series teams. Having made its debut in 1988, Roush Fenway holds 4 Nationwide
drivers’ championship titles, 129 victories and 87 pole position in its Nationwide program.
Being title sponsors for a successful racing team has its benefits as well. Tammy Shaw, Cargill Beef vice president of sales and marketing, talks highly about the benefits that sponsorship for Roush Fenway has brought for Cargill Beef.
Shaw said, “Our partnership with Roush Fenway and the No. 6 Ford Mustang has been terrific for our beef business. We are thrilled to see Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. transition to the next level after winning two championships with Cargill Beef as a sponsor, and
we look forward to leveraging the benefits of our sponsorship in ways that continue to grow our beef business throughout the US.”
In the 2013 season, Mike Kelley will be returning to Roush Fenway as Crew chief. In the upcoming season, Bayne Trevor will be defending Roush Fenway’s consecutive Nationwide Driver Champion title, following the move of Ricky Stenhouse Jr. to Sprint Cup.
Bayne, the youngest driver to have clinched a victory in Daytona 500, is very excited at the return of Kelley and having Cargill Beef as a sponsor.
He said, “It’s great to have Cargill Beef back on board with us next season. I’ve enjoyed learning about the beef business and I am looking forward to representing Cargill Beef on the track and in victory lane.”
