Rousimar Palhares scheduled to take on Alan Belcher at UFC on Fox 3 – UFC news
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) recently announced another skirmish for its UFC on Fox 3 pay-per-view according to which the surging Brazilian middleweight Rousimar Palhares will take on the American young gun Alan Belcher in a three-round non-title
engagement.
The special edition, basically the third episode in its series will be headlined most probably by the brawl between Nate Diaz and Jim Miller. Both men will brawl in the lightweight division and will be backed up by the co-main event bout between Josh Koscheck
and Johny Hendricks in the welterweight division.
At the moment the detailed fight card is still under construction and fights are needed to be bifurcated in either the main card or the preliminary card. The above mentioned three brawls will definitely make their place in the main card and have been announced
by UFC president Dana White via twitter.
Rousimar Palhares, infamous as the ‘Toquinho’, has a very impressive resume and is widely known in the UFC as one of the best submission specialist and tactician. The 32-year-old Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Luta Livre belt owner has entered the octagon a total
17 times and came out victorious in 14 encounters.
Palhares has collected a whopping 10 of his total wins by making the opponent submit which is evident of the fact that he is a lethal ground player and it is almost impossible to break his submission manoeuvres. Moreover the Brazilian proud has collected
emphatic wins over names such as Mike Massenzio, Dan Miller, David Branch and others.
Alan, 27, on the contrary, tries his level best to nail the opponent by any possible means. He uses both his kayo and submission ability to grasp a win, the reason why he has eight wins by knockout and seven by submission out of a total 17. Alan has been
in a total 23 skirmishes. The young ‘Talent’ is famous for his split decision win over Ed Herman.
Belcher and Palhares both will put forth the UFC fans an epic brawl since both have won submission of the night honours several time. Apart from that both men have almost an authoritative grip over submission tactics. The only aspect that might obstruct
the Brazilian from collecting a win is Alan’s knockout proficiency and heavy punches.
Rousimar and Alan both middleweights are currently on a three-win streak. UFC on Fox 3 will most probably be televised from IZOD Center situated in East Rutherford, New Jersey on May 5, 2012.
