Router Help needed?

Question

Since i cant program my wireless router on my computer since i had norton on it im going to try to take it to my cousins house and program it there since they have the same router too.

Do you think will work?

I would figure out how to get to your router at your house.  If you have to take it somewhere to get it working what is going to happen in a month when you have to get back into it to change something else?

Going to pick it up and go back to your cousins house again?

Figure out why you cant get to your own router 1st seems to be a better option.

Those low level netgear routers automatically obtain settings form your dsl or cable modem as soon as you plug it in. Of course you have to go into the router as soon as possible to set wireless settings, security, etc.

The way to get into the configuation for the netgear router is:

1.) After you connected your router to the cable and have your pc connected to the router, open the Internet explorer and type in www.routerlogin.net , in the address bar to go to the router login configuration page.

2.) It will ask you for a username password. username is: admin

password is:  password.

3.) There will be two selections on the top ""Basic Settings" and "wireless settings". Go through the settings to configure the router and remember to properly password protect with wireless with WPA or WPA2.

Configuring your box at your friends house is possible if you cannot go throught these steps, but just remember to copy your settings on paper.

Afetr your friend is done configuring the box take it back to your place, plug into the cable or dsl modem and you should be surfing.
