  1. What do you mean "The Power Cord Keeps Heating Up"?

If that is happening then the line is drawing too much current for the cord to handle and you need to find out why before you have a fire.

  2. Make sure the power box is not sitting on carpet or upholstry.  Try get it up on something so it can get air under it and all around it.  You could block the sides up so the middle (of the bottom) can get air or hang the power box off something with a string.  If that doesn't help much, put a small fan next to it.

  3. That is really odd because my wireless in the closet will connect up 900 feet from where it is located, which is about seven houses down the street. What kind of wireless router are you using?

I would assume you are using an extension cord in order to provide power to the router. It just may not be able to carry enough current because it's a cheap extension chord and causing it to generate a lot of heat.

  4. ummm..... routers should never be placed on the top floor of a house. Signals from routers travel better going up than down. Why do you HAVE to have it up there? I dont understand. Put the router on the first floor or at least the middle floor if your house is 3 floors. I would never recommend placing a router in the attic tho.

  5. try cooling it with some fans...
