I have a D-Link DIR-655 N router and want to get a gaming adapter for my 20GB PS3 does it have to be from D-link to work with my router or can it be from another manufacturer???

  1. You should be able to mix-and-match anything you like.  I usually go for the cheapest thing.  The only reason to get a certain brand is personal preference (and sometimes it makes getting support easier).

    Unless you plan to use this adapter for file-sharing just get a wireless-G adapter (N is supposed to be compatible with a/b/g/n adapters) and it'll be cheaper.  If you plan to put a eithernet switch and connect computers along side your ps3 with this adapter and want to use file-share then look for a N adapter.


  2. Wireless standards don't differ between companies. You can mix and match to your hearts content =)
