My router is included internally in the pc, hp pavilian slimline, there is an antenna in the back.

I have cable internet which is what I'm using now.

I'm trying to create a wireless network..when I set up a 'wireless router or access point' it says I do not have the hardware. When I create a 'wireless ad hoc' I can see the wireless network, but my iphone will not connect to it (for now the only thing that will be using the network)

  1. You have to set up Internet connection sharing between the ethernet and the wireless. BTW, that's not a router. It's just like a wireless pci card, only soldered onto the motherboard.

  2. You don't actually have a router, you have a wireless adapter.  You're not going to set up a wireless network that way.

It's possible to set up internet connection sharing... use the help function.

However, I think your best bet is to get a wireless router.
