  1. Often you just have to reset the router. Unplug it for about a minute then plug it back in and the lights should all light up in a sequence. Sometimes u have to do a full reset where on the back there is a little hole, take a safety pin and push it in there. then back on ur computer u have to reset the settings on some routers. If not that, call a friend who knows about networking and stuff like that, or call ur ISP(internet service provider) im sure they have a tech person that could help you.

  2. Read the directions that came with the router carefully.

Power EVERYTHING off.  Connect everything together, per directions.  Power on modem, wait for a little while for the modem to go through it's diags and connect to the network.  Power up the router, wait for it to finish booting up.  Power up a PC.  Did you make sure the router is running as a router and not a bridge?  Router support something called NAT.  If you don't have NAT you can only have one device active at a time.

  3. You need to access the web server for the two devices......then the modem needs to be set to DHCP and the router needs to have DHCP turned off. (If you cannot get into the modem it is most likely set up like this anyway) Just configure the router......You may want to reset the router look for a small push button on the back or bottom.
