  1. I'm assuming that both of the routers you have are wireless???

If so what you can do is assign a static IP address to both your routers.  Then make sure they have the same default gateway to get out into the web. In essence what you will be doing is setting up two wireless networks both having the same default gateway to get out into the web but each one having different IP schemes:

Example First router is configured with a statice IP using

    IP address: 192.168.1.1

    Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

    Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1

The 2nd router would look like

    192.168.1.2

    255.255.255.0

    192.168.1.1

The thing about this setup is you have to assign static IP addresses to all the computers connecting to the routers

  2. You will always get problems with conflicts if you try to use 2 routers, besibdes which ypou would be trying to use one of them in reverse. All you should need is a wireless card in the other machine.

  3. get a wireless bridge and attach it to the input on the spare router or as bridges are so cheap just put it on ur comp a bit like this setup http://www.wi-fiplanet.com/img/2006/10/0...

  4. Just swap the router in the living room with the wireless one. You will have to get a wireless card to use the internet though.
