  1. Before cleaning and filling with fresh anti-freeze take your car to an independant mechanic, radiator shop or any new car dealer and have the cooling system *pressure checked. The mechanic will place a special radiator cap on the car which has a hose connected to a small bicycle type pump. On the pump is a pressure gage which the mechanic can watch after pumping air pressure in the cooling system. If the set pressure bleeds of quickly there must be an internal or external leak in the cooling system. Common leaks are the radiator expantion tank O rings, clamps, hoses, heater core and radiator core.

Take the time to have this simple inexpensive test done first before dumping expensive antifreeze into the radiator and or expantion tank. If your car is at the 10 year age be prepared to possibly replace the radiator.

  2. you need to take off the rad cap, top it off, run it with the cap off. jack up the front of the vehicle so the rad opening is the higher point on the vehicle so the air can work its way out, and keep topping it off all the way. continue till you have heat.

  3. check on all water pipes and junctions, and where the matrix pipes go into the car....and also on the side and top of the rad, also on the thermostat housing....your looking for any bleed screws/nipples.....warm her up,and loosen 1 bleed s***w in turn till only water comes out[no air]close and top up rad....do that with the lot...that  should sort it...
