What is the best workout for the winter season when you can not get out and get on the water.

  1. leg strength, aerobic base with running and rowin erg workouts and building strength, core stability and flexibility and working on any muscualr imbalances/technical deficiencies

Strength and flexibility should be your goals now.  A weightlifting routine, cardio, and stretching should all be part of your plan.  I think a very basic power lifting, football type workout of bench presses, squats, and deadlifts should do it for you.  I'd have to say get a pull up bar also.  Hang it in a doorway you normally pass through, and make it a point to do chin ups every time you walk through it.  Yoga might also help you with your range.

  4. Aim of pre-season training off water is Hypertrophy.

    This is to build musscle bulf in preparation for the training during the season.

    Low weights, high reps.

    Focus on the muscles used in rowing, and continue to maintain a high level of fitness, running, cycling and swimming are all good for improving your aerobic fitness.
