Roxy Gap will try to make it two in a row in the Hendrie Stakes at Woodbine

Eugene Melnyk's 4-year-old Ontario homebred Roxy Gap is back for more after her superb victory over the Woodbine’s synthetic surface in the Whimsical Stakes on 22 April, 2012, and defeated the likes of Honey Chile in second and Atlantic Hurricane in third
at about six furlongs.
The Mark E. Casse trained filly will be back racing in the Grade 2 $150,000 Hendrie Stakes on 19 May, 2012, over the same Woodbine’s All-Weather track to be stretched out in distance to seven furlongs against 8 other, 4-year-old and up fillies and mares.
Bred in Ontario by Eugene Melnyk, Roxy Gap has tried turf surface three times in her career with a single win in an allowance race back in 2010, and on dirt once at Gulfstream Park in the Grade 3 Old Hat Stakes last year, and finished third, but she has
primarily run over the synthetic surface.
The filly has run five times over the Woodbine synthetic surface, and has gone on to win four times, and bettors will be reluctant to bet against her in the Hendrie Stakes, where she will try to make it two in a row.
In the 2012 campaign so far, Roxy Gap has run twice, as she kicked off proceeding in the Gulfstream Park allowance/optional claimer over the venue’s turf course on 14 March, 2012.
The Indian Charlie filly managed a placed finish in third behind Caribbean Lady and Going to Kukaro, who finished second and first respectively, as Going to Kukaro topped the five furlong dash in 54.51 seconds.
Roxy Gap was reunited with jockey Patrick Husbands, when she got back to Woodbine for her second start of the season in the Whimsical Stakes, and she relished the reunion and downed six furlong distance over her favourite surface in 1 minute and 9.15 seconds
on 22 April, 2012.
The third place finisher of the Whimsical Stakes, Atlantic Hurricane will be back for revenge, as she breaks from post number 5 with the odds of 5 to 2.
Roxy Gap drew the rail, and she was awarded the favoured odds of 2 to 1.
